VICFIRTH.COM Receives Acclaim in DRUM! Magazine

In their April 2007 issue, DRUM! magazine took a magnifying glass to the online percussion community, reviewing the the top websites of manufacturers, teachers and enthusiasts within the music industry. Taking into account content quality and quantity as well as entertainment and educational value, the editors of DRUM! compiled a list of "must visit" websites. Vic Firth is proud to have been mentioned at the top of DRUM!'s list, and we'd like to say:

Glad you noticed! ...welcome to our site!

Excerpted from DRUM! Magazine, April 2007:

"Published by teachers, manufacturers, savants, and snake-oil salesmen alike, every online drum lesson promises to push your ability to the next level. But be warned: the quality of Web-based instruction swings pendulously from homemade YouTube goofs to practical information. It’s too easy to find yourself waiting for graphics to download on a web site that ultimately has nothing to offer, so we decided to go on a surfing expedition to streamline your search for the best online drum lessons. So what are you waiting for? Go get better."

"...Vic Firth’s site is overwhelming in its wonderfulness. It’s large, with categories including drum set, marching, and concert content, so whether you want to thrash on your kit or mesmerize on your marimba you can find help here.

Each section of the site leads to further choices of PDF files to open, download, print, and practice; videos to watch (education and endutainment) including podcasts, and even play-along material; and links to artists’ personal sites, including Vic Firth stalwarts Peter Erskine, Dom Famularo, and Tommy Igoe.

This is honest-to-goodness educational material, not fluff. The expected ads for Vic Firth products are bearable. A must-visit site, and good luck getting any of your chores done on the days you visit Vic."
