Steph was in Taiwan performing clinics and masterclasses from July 14th to
28th for the Taipei International Percussion Summer Camp. He taught at the
Taipei National University of the Arts. 167 students were studying at the
camp. This is one of the best organized event in Taiwan. He used great
material from his book "The Weaker Side" written with Dom Famularo and also
the Mapex poster that will soon be distributed in Asia. He also used and
recommends many other books and services, including the Internet to get the kids connected to the world of drumming like the Vic Firth's web site and
cyber lessons! There were eight drumsets in the room and many pads for the
students to follow and play in the same time. This was a great opportunity
for them to play and listen to each other. Steph played with the Vic Firth
SD2 Bolero. For the more advanced students, going through some of the
history and also the evolution of drumming was incredible. Everyone at the
camp shared the same passion for the most beautiful instrument in the world.
