Boston, MA  October 2007 – Vic Firth Inc., the world’s largest and leading manufacturer of drumsticks and mallets, is pleased to announce their support of the 27th Lancers Marching Corps in the Philippines

The 27th Lancers Corps is a 2nd generation Corps that was established and founded by Jose Viray Jr. in 1979.  The 27th Lancers are now being managed by his nephew and former City Councilor Ferdinand Estrella, who is responsible for re-building the Corps. Current members are the sons and relatives of their Alumni and the only Corps in the Philippines who received the "Hall of Fame" award from the Boy Scouts of the Philippines.  Philippines Drum Corps is a whole year activity with 50 active Corps and around 50 Drum & Bell Corps all over the country. These groups perform in town fiestas, city parades and compete in the once a year competition organized by the Boy Scouts of the Philippines.
