Dr. Tom Nevill recently completed a series of master classes and a performance at the Universidad de Ciencias y Artes de Chiapas (UNICACH) in Tuxtla Gutierrez the capital city of Chiapas, Mexico. Hosted by Professor David Lopez, the master classes covered solo timpani performance and the importance of styles and independence on drumset. The week concluded with a concert of contemporary solo percussion pieces on Saturday, May 19. A highlight for the concert was the performance of “Three Brothers” and “Soul Sauce” with the UNICACH percussion ensemble.
