From July 23rd through July 27th Berwick High School (Ron Wasser, host) held its 5th annual Percussion Camp for elementary through high school students.  The camp was run by Jonan Keeny (Concord University) and additional staff included Dr. Pete Zambito (University of Missouri-Columbia), Wes Robertson (Graduate Student at James Madison University), and Jeff Vaughn (Student at Slippery Rock University).  In addition, Dr. Gifford Howarth presented a 4-mallet keyboard clinic to middle and high school students on Wednesday, July 25th.  Students participated in percussion ensemble, private lessons, and ear training, basic music theory, and composition classes during the week-long session.  Dr. Howarth’s appearance was sponsored by Vic Firth, Inc., Yamaha Corporation, and Zildjian.  Special thanks also to Vic Firth, Inc. for continued support of this program.
