Bongo Boy Music School hosted a drum circle facilitator training led by Arthur Hull September 21st through 23rd. Twenty-six participants from various professions including music education, health care, music therapy, and youth group leadership took part in the weekend training. The training provided insight as to the body language, awareness, and group achievement skills necessary to facilitate successful drum circles, and assist drum circle participants to enjoy and share their drum circle spirit. Each participant had the opportunity to work with the group to hone the new skills learned throughout the training. The newly enlightened drum circle facilitators completed the weekend with a sense of service and eagerness to take their new skills back to their respective drumming communities.
Bongo Boy Music School staff in attendance for the weekend included owner and percussion instructor Ed Gaus, and percussion instructor and drum circle facilitator Brian Fields.
Prior to the drum circle facilitator training, Arthur Hull facilitated Bongo Boy Music School’s free Thursday night weekly community drum circle. Approximately 80 people of all ages came together to share their drumming spirit on the beautiful late summer evening for the outdoor drum circle.
