Heritage Hands update
On Wednesday, June 1st the club was honoured to open for rock legend and
fellow Vic Firth endorsee Kenny Aronoff on the Ottawa leg of his Eastern
Canadian tour. The group performed an exciting and energetic set before
hundreds of members of the Ottawa drum community. As a special surprise to
everyone in attendance, Kenny came on stage and took part in the Latin jam
section of the groups final number "Mozambique"! HHODC would like to thank
Steve's Music Ottawa (Peter Andruchow and his staff), Ottawa Bluesfest (the
Blues in the School program) and of course Kenny!
On Sunday, June 5th the group performed it's full program on the main stage
at the grand opening of the new CBC / Radio Canada Broadcast Centre (part of
Doors Open Ottawa) on Ottawa's Sparks Street Mall. The club entertained the large groups of people who were
lining up to take a guided tour through the new facility.
