Donny Gruendler named PIT/Musicians Institute’s 2007 Teacher of the Year
Donny Gruendler, a Professor of Percussion Studies at Musicians Institute/PIT, was chosen as the Teacher of the Year. Tim Pederson (Director of PIT) made the announcement during the Fall 2007 Commencement Ceremony at the Henry Ford Theater in Hollywood, CA.
At PIT, Donny is a full-time faculty member that teaches a variety of classes such as Ensembles, Private Lessons and various electives. In addition, Donny has also created Digital Drumming -- a core curriculum that every incoming freshman is required to take (in order to receive their degree). The study covers the vast world of performing with (and creating) loops, samples and backing tracks. Thus, there are a wide range of performance and music production classes. The program launches in October of 2007.
