Glenn Robertson and Damon Grant, two of Vic Firth’s Educational Endorsers, have recently returned from John Mayer's Mayercraft Carrier after performing with their group ‘The Bomb Squad.’ The Mayercraft Carrier Cruise was a 3-day Caribbean cruise that set sail from Miami, FL and visited Freeport, Bahamas before returning to Miami.
The cruise featured sets by John Mayer in nightclub-style settings as well as performances by The Bomb Squad, Martin Sexton, Brandi Carlile, Soulive, Brett Dennen, Colbie Caillat, Dave Barnes, Cooper, DJ Logic,
David Ryan Harris, Bob Reynolds, Teddy Thompson, Sherrod Small and more. All of this took place aboard the Carnival Victory, a member of the Carnival fleet.
The Bomb Squad was one of the featured acts on Saturday Feb 2, 2008. Their sound and vibe was an immediate hit with the fans. The Bomb Squad’s set was one of the most powerful of the weekend, and without a doubt left a lasting impression on the 2800+ folks that were in attendance. The group viewed their selection for the cruise as an honor and were very grateful to get the chance to share the venue with such an amazing lineup of artists.
Among other recent Bomb Squad performances were the Iron Horse in North Hampton, MA (Feb 22nd), and at the Magic Hat Brewery as a featured artist for their Mardi Gras Celebration in Burlington, VT (Feb 23rd).
