Vic Firth, Associate Sponsor of “Music For All” Announces Audition Information for the BOA Honor Band in the Tournament of Roses Parade®
Music for All is extending the application/audition deadline for its Bands of America (BOA) Honor Band in the 2009 Rose Parade®.
The extended deadline for the application form is March 15 (received in the MFA office by March 15). The extended deadline for the audition recordings is March 28. Applicants must return the application first, and will then receive information on how to submit their audition recording via SmartMusic® for winds, video for percussion and auxiliary.
As part of Music for All’s commitment to showcase the importance of music education, every high school band and auxiliary member now has the opportunity to apply to march in America’s “Parade of Parades,” the 2009 Tournament of Roses Parade, as part of the Bands of America Honor Band. This 300-piece national parade and field show band will be directed by George N. Parks, Director of the University of Massachusetts Minuteman Marching Band, and an All-Star staff.
The BOA Honor Band experience will be Dec. 27, 2008 through Jan. 2, 2009, in Southern California with the parade on Jan. 1, 2009 in Pasadena.
