Beatrix Percussion Ensemble wins second European Title
On February 16, the Beatrix Percussion Ensemble won the European Concert
Open Class Championship at the 2008 European Indoor Percussion
Championships. The Competition took place as part of the WGI European
Percussion Regional and was held in Drachten, The Netherlands. This is the
second year in a row that Beatrix has won this title.
The ensemble performed their show "Four Seasons" with flair and excellence
and included music from Appalachian Spring, Summer in the City, Autumn
Leaves/Moondance and The Christmas Finale.
The Beatrix Percussion Ensemble is not only second time European Concert
Open Class Champions--but also five-time National Champion in the Concert
Class division. At the end of March they will defend their national title.
The ensemble is part of the Beatrix drum and bugle corps organization and
led by Paul Doop (arranger/instructor) and Rene van Dijke (instructor) both
from Corps Style Concepts.
