1992 DCI Tenor Individuals Solo (2nd place)
Matt Altmire received his BA and MM from the University of California at Los Angeles, where he studied with Mitchell Peters (Principal Timpani, L.A. Philharmonic). A freelance percussionist in the Los Angeles area, he has performed with such groups as the Torrance Symphony, the Los Angeles Concert Orchestra, and Swing Inc.
Matt's drum corps experience includes 2 years with the Anaheim Velvet Knights and 3 years with the Santa Clara Vanguard. As an instructor, he has worked with the Velvet Knights, Pacific Crest and Yamato.
Matt has also been a percussion/drumline instructor and/or arranger at several schools, including Etiwanda H.S., Long Beach City College, Riverside Community College, and UCLA. In addition to his percussive activities at Thousand Oaks HS, Matt currently teaches percussion at Hart High School in California.

1992 DCI Snare Individuals Solo (1st place)
Nick Angelis has been involved in the drum corps activity since 1979. Throughout 15 seasons, he marched with The Satellites from Leicester, MA from 1980-87, The Spartans from N.H. '88 and '89, The Boston Crusaders '90-91, The Santa Clara Vanguard 1992, The Star of Indiana 1993, Brass Theater 1994, and aged out of The Blue Knights from Denver, CO in 1995.
As a performer, he was crowned The 1992 Drum Corps International Rudimental Snare Drum World Champion, 1993 Drum Corps Midwest Champion and was a part of the 1993 Star of Indiana World Champion Percussion section.
Nick is currently Assistant Band Director for The University of Cincinnati Bearcat Bands under the direction of Dr. Terren Frenz.

1996 PASIC Tenor Solo
Bill Bachman has studied percussion performance at the University of North Texas and is a graduate of the Berklee College of Music. He has played quads in the University of North Texas indoor drumline, the Cadets of Bergen County Drum and Bugle Corps and has instructed with many award-winning groups including the Bluecoats and Blue Knights Drum and Bugle Corps. Bill is the designer of the Heavy Hitter Pads and the author of Quad Logic, Rudimental Logic and Bass Logic available from RowLoff Publications.
Bill is currently an international clinician, giving clinics on rudimental studies as well as drumset.

1993 DCI Snare Individuals Solo (3rd Place)
Rudy Gowern has been involved with percussion for almost 30 years. He marched in corps for the first time at the age of 6 in the Heightsman Drum & Bugle Corps from Arlington, MA. Subsequently, Rudy marched in the Citations of Burlington, S.T.A.R. of Revere, Boston Crusaders and aged out in the 1993 Star of Indiana. He has finished 3rd (93) 5th (92) 4th (91) and 7th (90) at the Drum Corps International Individual and Ensemble Snare Drum Championships.
Rudy served as the Percussion Director and Arranger for Magic of Orlando (94, 95), Phoenix (95) and the Boston Crusaders in 1996, 1998-2001. He also was the caption head for the Crusaders from 1999-2001. Rudy is currently the Marching Percussion Marketing Manager for the Pearl Corporation.

1991 Tenor Individuals Champion
Lee Hansen spent twelve years marching with the Phantom Regiment organization, from 1980 to 1991. He spent six seasons with the cadet corps, and six seasons with the “A” corps. During 1991 Lee earned the titles of Drum Corps Midwest Champion Multi-Tenor Drummer and Drum Corps International World Champion Multi-Tenor Drummer. In 2001, Lee began a five year tenure with the Boston Crusaders, in the role of tenor technician. In addition to his drum corps experience, Lee is also a percussionist for Walt Disney World’s Animal Kingdom, and has also performed with Disney’s Future Corps based out of EPCOT Center. Most recently, Lee has been an instructor, writer and arranger for various high school programs throughout the Midwest and Florida, as well as an instructor for Infinity Indoor Percussion Ensemble from Gainesville, Florida.

1992 DCI Tenor Individuals Champion
Colin McNutt has instructed and arranged for the Star of Indiana Drum and Bugle Corps, and the popular stage production, Blast! He has also written for and instructed the Crossmen Drum and Bugle Corps, the Glassmen Drum and Bugle Corps and Magic of Orlando. Colin has served on the faculty of the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, where he is an alumnus and received degrees in Classics and Music Education. Currently, he is on staff at the Cadets Drum and Bugle Corps and teaches the drumline at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.

The 1992 SCV tenor line features many "household names" in the drum corps world, including Matt Altmire, Colin McNutt, Murray Gusseck, Mark Campbell and Mike Apodaca. In tenor individuals this same year, Colin, Matt and Mark finished 1st, 2nd, 3rd!
