The 2012 Frankfurt Musikmesse was another fantastic and successful show for Vic Firth Company.  In addition to hosting numerous artists in the Vic Firth Artist Lounge and discussing 2012 promotional plans with partners from over 40 different countries, Vic Firth Company was awarded the Musikmesse International Press Award (MIPA) in recognition of the Gavin Harrison signature drum stick.

Gavin’s new signature stick is crafted in hickory and features an elongated ROCK shaft with a blended taper and tip, delivering an ideal combination of power and playability. Striking this balance was key to unlocking the raw energy, finesse and musicality for which Gavin is so well known.

“Although large”, Gavin states, “my new signature sticks are extremely balanced and versatile enough to be played at all dynamics.” Gavin’s sticks also feature Vic Firth’s anti-slip Vic Grip coating in blue, for an enhanced grip and distinctive look.

The Musikmesse International Press Awards (MIPA) are the Oscars of the musical-instrument and pro-audio sectors.  Journalists from over 110 music magazines worldwide choose the most innovative and best products of the musical instrument and professional audio industries in over 40 categories.
