ZUMIX Wins National Arts and Humanities Youth Program Award!

- First Lady Michelle Obama presents the 2011 National Arts and Humanities Youth Program Award to ZUMIX. Accepting the award in the East Room of the White House were Madeleine Steczynski, Executive Director, and Ixchel Garcia, a student participant.
Vic Firth Education Team Member Ben Paulding was honored last week when ZUMIX. Tthe non-profit youth music center where he teaches drums, was presented with the 2011 National Arts and Humanities Youth Program Award. This award recognizes ZUMIX as one of the top 12 youth arts and humanities after-school programs in the country. The award was presented by First Lady Michelle Obama at the White House on behalf of the President’s Committee on the Arts and the Humanities, in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts, the National Endowment for the Humanities, and the Institute of Museum and Library Services.
