Vic Firth Welcomes Carter Beauford to the Family

HE’S WITH VIC!
Vic Firth Company, the world’s largest and leading manufacturer of drumsticks and mallets, is proud to announce that Carter Beauford has joined their growing family of artists! A founding member of Dave Matthews Band and truly one of the best-known drummers in the world, Carter brought his immense talent to Vic Firth in search of the perfect pair.
“When you work as much as we do, there isn’t a lot of time to try out new gear,” states Beauford. “You get kind of locked into a routine. And that’s sometimes unfortunate, because there could be something out there that’s better. That was the case with me and Vic Firth! When a friend of mine recently put some Vic Sticks in my hands, I could not believe the difference. The stick not only felt perfectly straight and balanced, but I could also hear the difference immediately. I found I didn’t have to work so hard because the stick was working for me. It was then I realized that I had found the right tool for the job.” – Carter Beauford

Vic Firth did an amazing job at making these sticks. Carter is the man! love the stick in yellow. Keep up the good work.
I’m a big fan of Carter Beauford, he’s one of the most precise and smooth drummers out there. I don’t only love his work with the Dave Matthews Band, but I also LOVE his work with Victor Wooten.
Carter Beuford is BEAST!
I love how carter always keeps you on your toes. He will always play amazing and complex rythmns that confuse people to no end when trying to cover a DMB song. He also never plays the same song the exact same way twice and that keeps it from getting boring and it also challenges drummers like me that try to copy his style. It is also very nice to have a drummer that is very musically informed behind a set. Carter really knows about music and how to contribute to the song he is playing in a way that makes people really completely feel what the song’s vibe gives. I also love how through even the most relaxed of songs he can still challenge people and keep it complex (spaceman, say goodbye, #34 etc.) though all of the grooves that Carter puts to DMB my favorite Beauford Beat would have to be the one he puts throughout #41 because it was the first time that I heard Carter and realized that drumming could be relaxed and still crazy challenging (though I really do also like spaceman a lot too). I don’t really know what to think of his signature stick yet but I am sure that when I get my hands on a pair (probably not anytime soon with my money situation I haven’t been able to buy anything Vic in a while) I will be very pleased with them.
dude your such a robot on the set, and not in a bad way! man you can play like any run or any syncopation and ive learned so much from watching your videos. like ants marching in the studio helped me a ton with my hi-hat and tom runs and a lot of stuff like that.
thanks so much! your a great drummer and a great teacher.
