We invite your comments on the new website design

I hope everyone is enjoying the new design! It has taken several months in planning and development – and we’re really proud of the new look and functionality.
Here’s a brief rundown of some of the features:
• Bold new graphics: This goes without saying, I think – but with the ability to scroll, we can keep the latest 100 features at your fingertips! Plus, I’m trying to move away from the generic “drummer” graphics that you see on most sites – hopefully you’ll see something that’ll peak your interest!
• Sort by genre: Whether you’re into drumset, marching or concert (or all 3), click on the links below the scroller to quickly find what you’re looking for.
• RSS feeds: Want to be notified when new features are posted on vicfirth.com? Want to subscribe to your favorite authors? Now you can!
• The Exchange: If you’re reading this, you’re already in Vic’s new EXCHANGE! Rather than a random discussion board, the Exchange is a “blog” where discussions are lead by Vic Firth artists and Educators. We invite you to participate! A discussion is only great if lots of people take part.
• Twitter: If you’re into twitter, subscribe to VF to find out the latest on web features, artist happenings and product announcements.
• Easy access to popular links and lastest features from anywhere on the site – use the link bar at the bottom of any page.
• “Welcome to the Family”: Find out about the latest artists and educators who have joined the VF family!
• View weekly podcast videos with 1 easy click.
There’s really too much to list… And too many things that we want to continue to add to improve your surfing experience!
If you have any comments or suggestions on ways that we could improve the new design, here’s your opportunity!
Let’s hear what YOU have to say!

Ah … Love it! Very clean, AND I can see it on my iPhone!
The graphics make finding links a bit tricky. One thing I enjoyed about the old site over the new one was that all the links on the home page were easy to see and didn’t require any scrolling around to find. Also, having all three podcasts displayed at once instead of scrolling in one pane was nice.
Everything else is great!
Thanks, Ney
Regarding navigating to the home page… You can click on the Vic Firth logo on the top of any page within the site to return to the homepage. This is a pretty common element with almost any website that you go to (although some still put a “HOME” link in their menu).
Hope that helps!
Thanks Mark
This helps a lot and it is another thing that I learned from you.
Excuse me for being so bad on website matters.
All the best
Ney
Great site Mark
Much better looking and large screen helps a lot.
This is a web site for the new decade. Congratulations.
I still will need some time to understand the new features and the best way to navigate.
Everytime I do navigate for several pages I cannot find my way back to the home page.
Is there a way that I can go back to the home page without having to use the forward page button several times?
Thanks Mark
I really like the new website! It flows better and its nice to not hear the click from the homepage changing pictures!
Hello for everybody ; congratulations for the new work design of the VF ; beautiful ; grtz from Belgium willy el cubano
This is why i have a bookmark on this website. you guys just made the best percussion website even better. what would also be helpful is if you guys had a search engine just for the lessons, and education articles or a blast from the past feature of drummers from over the years would also be awesome!
Once again, vicfirth.com leads the way with clean, standards based, semantic web design. I haven’t checked the site with IE6 (grrrrrr), but everything is really nice.
The only nit-picky thing I’ve come across is that we have to click on an article to see the “My Exchange” menu items, particularly the “Profile” menu item. Anyway to access this from the Exchange home page?
Thank you for not using any Flash!
But all in all… I’m hypin it. One more thing:
Is there some way we can get you two to fix the mess that is the newly designed PAS website? Or maybe just consult with them on how to stop “folding”?
¡Gracias!
