EDUCATIONAL SPOTLIGHT: Vibraphone virtuoso Gary Burton is no stranger to innovation. On his way to winning six Grammy awards, Gary pioneered the four-mallet technique, started the jazz fusion movement and has most recently developed a 12-week online Jazz Improvisation course with Berkleemusic, the online continuing education division of the Berklee College of Music. This in-depth course, which is derived directly from the popular improvisation course Gary taught at Berklee for over a decade, delves into the world of melodic development, navigating harmonic progressions, improvisational soloing and much more. These four free video lesson are presented courtesy of Berklee College of Music. Visit the Berklee website for more information and to enroll in their online lessons!
