EDUCATIONAL SPOTLIGHT:
ROD MORGENSTEIN
on ROCK DRUMS

Legendary Dixie Dregs and Winger drummer Rod Morgenstein has worn a lot of hats over the course of his extensive career. One of Rod’s newest initiatives is the work he’s done with Berkleemusic, the online continuing education division of Berklee College of Music, in creating his 12-week online course Rock Drums.

This extensive hands-on, performance-based online course covers a variety of key topics, such as different kinds of beats and fills, how to change the sound and feel of a groove, the influence of Latin rhythms on rock drumming, ghost-stroking techniques, syncopated grooves, odd time, double bass drumming, the rudiments as they apply to rock drumming, and much more.

These four free video lesson are presented courtesy of Berklee College of Music. Visit the Berklee website for more information and to enroll in their online lessons!
