ANGEL FRETTE & Ensamble de Percussion Patognia
PASIC 2010

Since 1988, Angel Frette has served as percussionist with the Philharmonic Orchestra of Buenos Aires-Teatro Colon. In 1994 and 1995, he perfected his percussion studies in New York under the instruction of William Moersch. He has appeared as marimba soloist in Brazil, Uruguay, Chile, Puerto Rico, Spain, Portugal, Belgium, Croatia, Italy, Colombia, France, Mexico, and the United States. Also, he has presented master classes and workshops at the University of Miami, University of Illinois, and University of Minnesota.

Angel has appeared at PASIC before, in 1999. In 2000, he also appeared in a duo setting with William Moersch in the cities of Seville, Almeria, Alicante, Valencia and Madrid (Spain). Frette has performed eight world premieres of concertos for marimba and orchestra written exclusively by Argentine composers. He has served on the jury panels for several international marimba competitions in Belgium, Brazil, Mexico, and Italy. He has released four compact disc recordings and currently directs the Patagonia Percussion Festival.
