a variety of quarter time signatures, and learn 2 new essential
stroke styles: the multiple bounce and the downstroke.

Practice the "Single Stroke Roll" and "Double
Stroke Roll" everyday for at least 1 minute at 110 bpms

Practice the Multiple Bounce:
Day 1: at 60 bpm for 1 min per hand*
Day 2: at 80 bpm for 1 min per hand*
Day 3: at 60 bpm for 1 min using alternating strokes*
Day 4: at 80 bpm for 1 min using alternating strokes*
(*** continue to practice each step as long as it
takes
to
develop
perfect
multiple
bounces!)
Practice the Downstroke:
Day 1 & 2: using the "4 legato strokes/downstroke in
the
hand" approach for 1 min per hand
Day 3 & 4: using the "2 legato strokes/downstroke
on the pad" approach for 1 min per hand
Perfectly play each Appendix line (page 54) and Playing Exercise
(page 8,9) while tapping the foot and counting
out loud:
