Mikael was born in 1971. He started playing the cello when he was six years old. He grew up with classical music due to both his parents being pianists, At twelve the drums became more interesting and he started his first pop band. Besides studying music in Södra Latins Senior Music High School, he studied at the Royal University College of Music in Stockholm and drums in New York. He has performed with a wide range of artists, bands, orchestras in a variety of musical styles and genres, where names as Alien, Planet Waves, Joakim Thåström, Jerry Donahue, Mikael Rickfors, Lill-Babs, Dj Mendez, Dr Alban, Roland Pöntinen, Pierre Swärd, Jill Johnsson, Maria Hänninen, Gladys Pilar, Martin Stenmark, Jonas Knutsson, Sven-Bertil Taube, Hanne Soorvag and others can be mentioned.

Mike is also known for his teaching skills and has done several demonstrations and workshops for companies such as DW, (Drum Workshops), Paiste cymbals, Roland Roland Scandinavia V-drums and Clavia ddrums.

Besides touring and teaching, Mikael is also engaged in recordings in his own drumstudio working with song writers, musicians and producers from Sweden, England and The United States.

Two One Beat (Wikman Bylin Proyecto)

Two One Beat is a drumset duo consisting of Mikael Wikman and Peter Bylin. Both are professional drummers based in Stockholm Sweden. The Duo started in august 2006 and made it’s premiere apperence at the Bass N’ Drum festival in Stockholm September-06. The duo performs their own compositions arranged for two drumsets. This combination of musicality and driven virtuosity that the duo commands has been a huge success among drummers and musiclovers. Mikael and Peter has now started a tour in Sweden doing both performances and clinics.
