Born in Genova, Italy, in 1969. He started practicing drums at a very young age, thirteen years old. He studied drums with the great Italian teacher Orazio Chiappino and also learned classical percussion at the N.Paganini conservatory of music in Genova. At the age of seventeen he starting playing professionally, playing and recording with several artists like Mike Stern (with Quadra fusion band), Johnny Mars, Steve Washington, Terry Pack, Pippo Matino, Ricchi e Poveri, F.Baccini, Sanremo Band, Clem Ashford, Anne Ducrois, Jacques Horougne, Marco Fadda, Davide Devoti, Will Ball and many others. He started teaching drums in 1991 and taught drums and percussion in the best Ligurian schools of music like Music Line, Roland Music School, Scuola Conte, Accademia della Musica. He endorses UFIP cymbals and VIC FIRTH sticks and has been since the year 2000. In 2001 he created and published (for Ricordi-Universal) a series of drum methods called Drumland, five drumbooks that quickly became the best-selling books in Italy. Now he's playing with The Lounge club Quartet (jazz-lounge), Fabrizio Cosmi Trio (fusion-jazz rock), JJJSniff (pop-rock blues) and Contrasto (percussionist-smooth jazz and funk).
