Percussionist and Vic Firth artist, John Mahon, was born in Canton, Ohio. In the early 1980's, he moved to California and began his music career.
Currently playing percussion and singing backup vocals for Elton John, Mahon has performed with many bands and artists including Ray Charles, Tina Turner, Phil Collins, Bonnie Raitt, and Edgar Winter.
Mahon performed on Peter White's album Promenade in 1993, and in 1996, he performed on Dave Camps album Torrid Rain. He has appeared in such television specials as Elton John, One Night Only, The 42nd Annual Grammy Awards, and VH1's 1999 Divas.
