  • Most memorable Next-Level Performance

I'd have to say my most memorable performance to date was a couple years ago opening for Solange in Portland at the Schnizter Concert Hall. I performed my 'Effectual" set so it was just me, my solo concept. I had my kit, turntables and a sampler. From the first note I was on. Just moving fluidly between each station and executing every idea that came to me. It was high that I haven't unlocked since.
  • What Drives Your Creativity?

I'm heavily inspired by abstract art and film. I see myself as a painter. Cy Twombly is one of my favorites. Mark Bradford, John Baldessri, Glenn Ligon. Love everything Theaster Gates is doing.
  • Why do you choose Vic Firth?

The Heritage Brush is one of my favorite VF instruments. The way they handle is second to known. I'm big on touch and with the Heritage I'm able to execute ideas masterfully without any forced motions.
