At fifteen, George Marsh quit the one "real" job he's ever held (as a soda jerk) to become a professional drummer in Belleville, Illinois...

Since then he's pretty much paid rent by playing with too many great musicians to list: John Abercrombie, Mose Allison, David Grisman, Joe Henderson, Denny Zeitlin, Terry Riley, Pauline Oliveros, Kronos Quartet, Barbara Streisand, etc. But he hasn't stopped there. If you were born yet, perhaps you caught him with Chuck Berry at the Fillmore in 1969? Or for you youngsters, George recently played on his drums at the premiere of Mel Graves' contemporary symphonic work at the Lincoln Center in New York and at Herbst Theatre in San Francisco.
