Vera has been called "The
Queen of Samba" and is the first drummer
to release a solo album in Brazil. She is also
the founder and director of one of the most
important drum schools in São Paulo,
Brazil, the Instituto de Bateria. Vera Figueiredo
and produces the annual Batuka! Music Festival,
the largest festival of its kind in Brazil.
