I had been a working drummer for several years. I'd played with a few solid projects but they all ended for one reason or another without getting much recognition. Drumming was important to me but I had other interests too and I admitted that it might take a secondary role at some point. By chance, I was introduced to a couple who needed a drummer for a relatively new band - still unknown, still practicing in the living room. After rehearsing for several months, we submitted material to Sarah McLachlan's Lilith Fair Tour and were accepted to play a few dates in the Northeast. During that tour, we played 20,000 seat venues and met and worked with enormously talented people in various aspects of the music business. That experience was transformational for me like finding religion or a family one never knew they had. I knew as clearly as we can know anything that drumming is my path. I've done my best to stay on it.
